More Than a Pineapple
A Story from Taiwan to London
When people think of Taiwan, bubble tea, vibrant night markets and world-leading technology often come to mind. Yet for us, one of Taiwan’s greatest treasures lies in its fertile land and the exceptional fruit it produces.
This summer, Made in Taiwan Ltd is proud to introduce two of Taiwan’s finest pineapples—the Golden Diamond Pineapple and the Sweetie Honey Pineapple (Tainung No.16)—to the United Kingdom. More than simply importing fruit, we are sharing a story of craftsmanship, dedication and a deep respect for the land. Every pineapple represents the collective efforts of farmers, growers, exporters and our team, travelling over 9,000 kilometres from Taiwan to London.

Every Pineapple Begins with a Farmer
Exceptional fruit begins long before harvest.
Growing pineapples is a labour of patience, requiring approximately 18 months of careful cultivation before each fruit reaches its peak. Throughout the seasons, farmers prepare the soil, nurture each plant, manage weeds and monitor changing weather conditions, knowing that the quality of their harvest depends on both experience and nature.
Taiwan’s subtropical climate creates ideal growing conditions, but it also presents significant challenges. Heavy rainfall, typhoons and unpredictable weather can affect both yield and quality.
This year, prolonged rainfall in southern Taiwan impacted several Golden Diamond pineapple farms. Together with our trusted supplier, Nature House, we made a simple but important decision:
Quality must always come before quantity.
Rather than compromise, we chose to offer only fruit that meets the standards our customers deserve.
From Taiwan to Europe — A Journey Built on Trust
Fresh fruit cannot simply be picked and shipped overseas.
Exporting fresh produce to the United Kingdom and Europe requires rigorous compliance with international phytosanitary regulations designed to protect local agriculture and ecosystems.
Working closely with Taiwanese growers, Nature House has established internationally recognised production and quality management systems, enabling its fruit to meet the strict requirements for export to both the UK and European markets.
Every shipment undergoes comprehensive inspection before departure.
These standards represent far more than regulatory compliance—they reflect a commitment to food safety, environmental responsibility and the reputation of Taiwan’s agricultural industry.
Harvested at Peak Freshness. Delivered with Care.
Timing is everything.
Each pineapple is harvested only when it reaches optimal maturity, ensuring the perfect balance of sweetness, aroma and texture.
Immediately after harvest, the fruit is carefully packed, inspected and prepared for temperature-controlled air freight.
Within just a matter of days, it travels more than 9,000 kilometres from orchards in Taiwan to customers across the United Kingdom.
This carefully managed cold-chain process helps preserve the freshness, flavour and quality that make Taiwanese fruit so highly regarded around the world.
Sweetie Honey Pineapple — Taiwan’s Hidden Gem
Alongside the renowned Golden Diamond Pineapple, we are delighted to introduce another exceptional Taiwanese variety: the Sweetie Honey Pineapple (Tainung No.16).
Produced in limited quantities, this premium cultivar is prized for its exceptionally fine texture, lower fibre content, abundant juice and naturally balanced sweetness with gentle acidity.
Its outstanding eating quality has made it highly sought after in Japan, yet it remains relatively unknown beyond Asia.
By bringing Sweetie Honey Pineapple to the UK, we hope to introduce British consumers to another remarkable example of Taiwan’s rich agricultural heritage.
Bringing Taiwan to the World
Made in Taiwan Ltd was founded with a vision that extends far beyond importing products.
Our mission is to build meaningful connections between Taiwan and the United Kingdom by sharing authentic Taiwanese food, culture, craftsmanship and the stories behind them.
We are proud to be among the first teams introducing premium fresh Taiwanese produce to London. While this milestone is significant, it is only the beginning of our journey.
In the years ahead, we look forward to introducing even more of Taiwan’s exceptional agricultural products, regional specialities and cultural traditions to audiences across the UK.
Because we believe that the best way to understand a country is not only through what you see—but through what you experience, taste and share.
From Taiwan, With Pride
Every pineapple represents months of dedication from Taiwanese farmers, generations of agricultural knowledge and a shared commitment to quality.
At Made in Taiwan Ltd, we are honoured to play a small part in that journey—connecting Taiwan with the United Kingdom, one harvest at a time.
We sincerely thank everyone who supports our mission. Your support allows us to continue introducing the very best of Taiwan to the world.
